Justo Mwale University (JMU) whose vision is to be a leading Christian University in Sub- Saharan Africa is seeking to recruit a trained and qualified Librarian. JMU is an institution of high standing both locally and internationally, and is registered with the Higher Education Authority (HEA). Its Mission is to provide quality, contextual and holistic Christian education that empowers persons to serve the church, academia and society in Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
To oversee the collection, acquisition and development of the University Library. This is inclusive of budgeting, staff development, fundraising, the maintenance and formation of library services, physical space, information technology adoption and development, website development, and strategic planning.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will be a collegial, visionary, experienced leader, with the proven ability to manage, develop, and forward the strategic vision of an academic research library, while successfully implementing operational details and managing staff. He or she must meet the following qualifications:
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Studies.
- Master’s degree in Library & Information Studies.
- Three years post qualifying experience as Librarian.
- Mature Christian in good standing.
