Zambia Sugar Plc. is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Limited Group and is the leading Sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Treasury Analyst in the Financial Department.
TREASURY ANALYST (x1) – MIDDLE MANAGEMENT
FINANCE DEPARTMENT (NAKAMBALA)
This position reports to the Treasury Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Treasury Manager in managing foreign exchange exposure, liquidity, interest rate, and compliance risk associated with treasury aspects.
Key Performance Areas
- Prepare and execute cash forecasting for medium and long-term requirements. Manage cashflow reporting.
- Track and report on the foreign currency exposure.
- Assist with foreign currency management through forecasting, currency and interest rate analysis, and hedging requirements.
- Manage daily cash flows to support day-to-day operations. Monitor bank accounts daily to ensure cash is adequately utilized for operational, working capital and investment needs of the business
- Ensure inter-company and other foreign currency payments are processed accurately and timely.
- Liaison with bank for various banking needs.
- Reconcile loan control accounts, dividends control accounts as well as cash in transit control accounts
- Manage finance costs/income, reconcile interest control accounts, and ensure bank charges are adequately reviewed and accounted for every period end.
- Monitor and advise on compliance with all banking covenants to the Treasury Manager.
- Liaison with the rest of the business and attend to bank and other treasury related matters.
- Maintain and update the different banking systems and platforms subscribed to by the business and conducting access rights reviews periodically.
- Support month-end processes and other Treasury reporting requirements.
- Assist manage internal controls relating to Treasury and support both internal and external audit accordingly.
- Assist manage and update treasury-related standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Promote and adhere to Group procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Minimum specifications / Requirements areas
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy: ACCA/CA Zambia or relevant Business/Finance/Treasury qualification
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Corporate Treasury/Banking will be an added advantage.
- Strong business analytic skills to generate insight and add measurable value.
- Exceptional accounting and reporting skills and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical ability, detailed process, verbal, and written communication
- Attention to detail and self-driven.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
