The Company Seeks the Services of a Training Officer – Masonery x1

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively and efficiently training refractory Masons that build and maintain heat and corrosion resistant structures and vessels such as furnaces, reactors, kilns, tanks and ducts.

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

Preparing and conducting class lessons and lecture handouts/notes.
Developing schemes of work and daily lesson plans.
Developing assignment’s, Mid Term Tests, End of Term Tests and Examinations.
Compiling up-to-date Continuous Assessment for all students for the relevant program.
Training and develop learners and ensure that acceptable performance standards are maintained and improved.
Facilitating, coordinating and monitoring student assigned tasks to enhance hands-on experience.
Planning and managing workshop practical activities and assess trainees for competence.
Driving the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.
Exercising budgetary control to ensure cost effectiveness on proper utilization of both human and material resources in order to meet requirement and service availability within budgeted costs.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate
Diploma in Building Technology.
Diploma in Teaching Methodology will be an added advantage.
Good knowledge of Smelting and melting operations.
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Good Problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
