QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Nursing, Clinical Medicine
  • Three years’ experience in a donor environment
  • Possess a diverse range of experiences, including designing and conducting training programs, particularly for survivors of Violence
  • Demonstrate expertise in gender-sensitive approaches and integrating family planning services into HIV services.
  • Experience in promoting condom programming and integrating services across multiple sites is.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring nutrition assessment and counselling services, as well as delivering healthcare in prison settings, is valuable.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or any related social science
  • Experience working on USAID-funded awards.
  • Experience in delivering capacity development activities.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Project Management and Technical Support

  • Implement the gender strategy for Action HIV project, based on the defined goals and timelines. Identify strategic areas for gender integration aligned with the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and implementation plans.
  • Ensure consistent application of USAID gender and voluntary family planning policies, frameworks, and best practices across all project activities.
  • Collaborate with the project team to facilitate gender-related analyses, reporting, and task execution, emphasizing efficient and timely implementation. Ensure all reports are delivered to USAID as per the work plan.
  • Provide support for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) activities within the Action HIV project
  • Offer strategic guidance on coordinating, managing, and tracking capacity development for providers delivering voluntary Family Planning (FP) services in Antiretroviral treatment clinics.
  • Advise on the assessment of needs, counselling, and delivery of voluntary FP services in all Action HIV-supported sites.
  • Promote nutritional assessment, counselling, and supplementation for People Living with HIV (PLHIV) across all supported sites.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the delivery of comprehensive HIV prevention and treatment services in correctional facilities in Northern, Luapula, and Muchinga provinces.
  • Support the design and implementation of activities as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to project flexibility and adaptability.

Reporting and Coordination with Clients and Partners

  • Coordinate closely with project leadership to ensure the continuous collection and monitoring of rigorous gender, family planning, NACS and correctional facility sites data against indicators and targets in accordance with USAID’s Gender Policy and reporting expectations
  • Use MEL strategies to gather information with partners and feed into project design
  • Prepare quality reports on gender, family planning, NACS and correctional facility sites. Include details on progress, areas of concern, success stories, and forward-looking goals in the regular updates

Leadership

  • Provide leadership to maintain a supportive work environment, open communication, accountability, collaboration, and decision making
  • Coordinate with communication staff to contribute to innovative outreach campaigns and communications tools to effectively disseminate information to, and engage with, diverse beneficiary and stakeholder groups, such as through social media and traditional media outlets
  • Serves as a mentor to program staff to ensure integration of gender, family planning, NACS and provision of quality correctional facility HIV services

Compliance and Financial Management

  • Maintains appropriate documentation to support program files, budget planning and expense reports, and financial audits

Reporting

  • Undertake donor reporting; Annual, semi-annual, Quarterly, Monthly and adhoc reports
  • Internal reporting within RTCZ
