Job Description


Reporting to the Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for supervising daily survey activities in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner. As a survey supervisor, you will ensure technicians perform their duties according to required quality and recommended standards. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

Provide survey services to PFS i.e. picking/ staking out exploration holes and keeping records.
Supervise Survey Technicians to ensure the provision of accurate and timely survey services.
Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
Assist the Mine surveyor to carry out pit surveys on a regular basis to enable accurate bench and total volumes to be calculated at the end of month. Blasted areas to be surveyed for stocks and contractor payments.
Maintain equipment inventory and ensure surveying equipment is kept in good working order.
Daily interaction with all survey personnel and other departments on a regular basis.
Be pro-active in all aspects of operational safety and encourage teamwork in the section.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Diploma in Mine Surveying.
Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
A minimum of 3 years survey experience in the mining industry (Preferably Open Cut mine).
Experience in large multi pit operations utilizing GPS equipment, 3D scanners, Total stations, and data recorders.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must be familiar with safe working practices.
