AHF Zambia invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:
1. Clinical Mentors (3)
The Clinical Mentors will be responsible for mentoring all AHF clinical staff at the supported sites in the region to ensure that all HIV/AIDS/TB/STI prevention, care, and treatment activities are executed effectively and efficiently, in line with national guidelines.
Locations & Positions Available:
- Northern Region – Ndola (1 Position)
- Central Region – Kabwe (1 Position)
- Southern Region – Choma (1 Position)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate mentorship activities at all AHF supported sites in the region.
- Conduct mentorship and provide direct services in HIV/TB/STI services, focusing on prevention, care, and support.
- Collaborate with regional partners to implement capacity-building activities for front-line ART Health Care Workers.
- Identify gaps in services and implement Quality Improvement projects at supported sites.
- Support facilities in implementing innovations to improve performance across the HIV/AIDS/TB/STI care cascade.
- Monitor regional AHF Quality benchmarks and track progress.
- Implement AHF program plans, generate reports, and track achievements.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ Levels.
- Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences with at least 5 years’ experience in HIV care and treatment.
- Certificate in Pediatrics and Adults Advanced HIV Management.
- Degree in Clinical Medicine (Clinical Officer) or Public Health, or Master’s Degree in Public Health (added advantage).
- Must be registered with the Health Professionals Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and hold a valid current annual practicing license.
2. Clinical Officer (4)
The Clinical Officers will provide clinical care to both pediatric and adult recipients of care.
Locations & Positions Available:
- Kanyama Level 1 Hospital – Lusaka (1 Position)
- Chipata Level 1 Hospital – Lusaka (1 Position)
- Matero Level 1 Hospital – Lusaka (1 Position)
- Katondo Clinic – Kabwe (1 Position)
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care to pediatric and adult clients.
- Coordinate patient scheduling to ensure compliance with productivity standards.
- Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases in infants, children, and adults.
- Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention methods.
- Assist counselors with HIV status disclosure to pediatric clients.
- Ensure timely reporting and processing of required reports.
- Work with the clinic team to ensure adequate medical supplies and a smooth clinic operation.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ Levels.
- Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in HIV care and treatment.
- Certificate in Pediatrics and Adults HIV Management.
- Must be registered with the Health Professionals Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and hold a valid current annual practicing license.
3. Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Provider (1)
The VMMC Provider will work with other clinical staff to provide VMMC procedures to clients.
Location: New Masala Clinic, Ndola
Responsibilities:
- Lead clinical and support staff to ensure high-quality VMMC services.
- Work with partners and management to ensure smooth VMMC service delivery.
- Promote the benefits of VMMC to achieve targets.
- Link VMMC clients to other HIV prevention services.
- Ensure services align with Ministry of Health policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ Levels.
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
- Certificate in Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision.
- Five years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience with HIV prevention programming and VMMC for HIV prevention.
- Must have a valid current annual practicing license from the Health Professional Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
4. HIV Nurses (2)
The Nurses will provide nursing care to all recipients of care at the facilities where they are stationed.
Locations & Positions Available:
- Monze Mission Hospital – Monze (1 Position)
- Manungu Clinic – Monze (1 Position)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain clinical competency in nursing care, including patient education and disease prevention.
- Participate in patient care management and case discussions.
- Provide education to patients and their families on disease management, safe sex, and referrals.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards and health policies.
Qualifications:
- Registered/Enrolled Nurse.
- Certified in HIV Care Management.
- Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in HIV treatment and care.
- Registered with the General Nursing Council.
5. Data and Linkage Assistant (4)
The Data and Linkage Assistants will manage routine data and linkage functions at a facility level, ensuring accurate data collection, collation, verification, and reporting.
Locations & Positions Available:
- Kanyama Level 1 Hospital – Lusaka (1 Position)
- Matero Level 1 Hospital – Lusaka (1 Position)
- Chipata Level 1 Hospital – Lusaka (1 Position)
- Thomson General Hospital – Luanshya (1 Position)
Responsibilities:
- Capture and update ART patient visits on SmartCare and share reports.
- Ensure that test results are timely updated on SmartCare.
- Monitor and support clients with missed appointments, unsuppressed viral loads, and other line lists.
- Coordinate and present data at health facility feedback meetings.
- Assist with client re-engagement efforts and linkage to care.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ Levels.
- Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data collection and reporting.
- Proficient in Excel or SmartCare.
6. Linkage Assistant (3)
The Linkage Assistants will focus on ensuring the implementation of linkage and retention operations for recipients of care.
Locations & Positions Available:
- Chipokota Mayamba Clinic – Ndola (1 Position)
- Mazabuka General Hospital – Mazabuka (1 Position)
- Chongwe Urban Clinic – Chongwe (1 Position)
Responsibilities:
- Contact and encourage patients to return to care through calls and home visits.
- Ensure newly diagnosed patients are linked to care and treatment.
- Identify barriers to accessing services and document them.
- Support the clinic team in improving retention and reducing disengagement.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ Levels.
- Diploma in Psychosocial Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with people living with HIV.
- Good interpersonal skills and confidentiality.
- Registered with the Zambia Counselling Council.
7. Information Technology (IT) Officer (1)
The IT Officer will provide direct support to AHF staff on ICT resources and support the IT department.
Location: AHF Zambia Country Office, Lusaka
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT support to AHF staff and troubleshoot system issues.
- Maintain and document hardware, software, and systems.
- Ensure system security and optimal performance.
- Provide technical assistance for new applications and solutions.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ Levels.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in IT support and service desk operations.
8. Administrative Assistant (1)
The Administrative Assistant will provide support to the regional office to ensure effective operations.
Location: Central Regional Office, Kabwe
Responsibilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Regional Medical Manager.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and supplies for outreach teams.
- Assist with procurement requests, invoicing, and financial record-keeping.
- Organize meetings and ensure timely reporting.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
