Bureau Veritas Zambia requires services of a Sub-cons. As an Accountant you will be responsible of managing the day-to-day accounting operations in liaison with the SCC accounting team and assist with monthly reports and coordinate audits and preparation of financial statements.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels; credit or better in Mathematics and English Language being a must.
Basics Computer skills
Ability to work under pressure.
Highly motivated and flexible
Interpersonal skills
Knowledge of TIC’s (Testing, Inspection and Certification) will be an added advantage.
Experience in Government Services activities.

Job Specification

As an Inspector, the candidate will conduct PSI & VOC inspections.
The geographical scope consists of: Zambia.
Carrying out pre-shipment and Verification of Conformity inspections on goods for export in accordance with BIVAC rules and procedures
Preparing inspection
Maintaining internal and external communication
Attending meetings in relation to the above inspections
Communication of commercial information
Training of new inspectors and subcontractors
Keeping himself updated with BIVAC procedures, national and international regulations and publications related to GSIT inspections.
Management and administration of samples
Respects security guidelines of BV and safeguard personal security in the working environment
Environmental
dispose waste in a responsible manner.
report all environmental incidents to management immediately or as soon as reasonably practicable.
use natural resources in a responsible manner.
Participate in all emergency drills.
Conduct work to customer specific requirements and adhere to customer rules (where applicable)
Participate and contribute to impact and aspect register regarding your area of responsibility.
Ensuring compliance with legal & moral obligations with regards to the position by understanding & implementing relevant sections of the Environmental requirements for Zambia

Safety
Report all incidents and accidents to management immediate or as soon as reasonably practicable.
Take care of my own health and safety while conducting work
Conduct work to customer specific requirements and adhere to customer rules (where applicable)
Participate in emergency training.
Participate and contribute to hazard and risk register with regards to your area of responsibility.
Ensuring compliance with legal & moral obligations with regards to the position by understanding & implementing relevant sections of the Occupational Health and Safety requirements for Zambia
Maintains a high standard of housekeeping by implementing the relevant procedures with regards to best practices.
Must always apply all safety rules.
