Job Title: Advisor – Strategic Information
Department/Unit: Strategic Information
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Duration: Full-time
Reports to: Director – Strategic Information

Background
Coalition Health Zambia Limited (CHZ), a public health organization dedicated to improving the provision of public health services in Zambia and the region, is recruiting for an Advisor, Priority Populations for the USAID-funded Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Populations (CHEKUP II) Project. CHEKUP II aims to address the needs of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and those most at risk of acquiring HIV and contribute to HIV mitigation and epidemic control. In addition, the program seeks to improve the health outcomes of priority populations in the highest HIV-burden provinces of Zambia.

Position Summary:
The Strategic Information Advisor will work closely with the Director of Strategic Information, the Strategic Information Advisor and Coordinators, technical teams, the Digital Health Advisor and the Communications Director to develop and implement a plan for ensuring project activities and successes are based in evidence and successfully shared with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the SI Director and Knowledge Management Advisor in developing deliverables and maintaining project milestones.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to drive private sector adoption of digital health tools.
  • Analyse data and craft compelling stories using data visualization and infographics to inform stakeholders.
  • Interpret data to resonate with key audiences, enhancing decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports.
  • Prepare abstracts, presentations, and periodic progress updates tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions and mentoring for regional staff and Sub partner counterparts to strengthen capacity in SI/M&E practices.
  • Promote Collaborative, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) activities to enhance project adaptability.
  • Actively engage in internal and external meetings to share insights and updates.
  • Uphold organizational standards, including the Accountability Framework, Code of Conduct, and fraud management policies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, emphasizing adaptability within the role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, health informatics, public health, or a related social science field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience generating, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data.
  • Prior experience as a Strategic Information Advisor or a similar role within the health sector is required.
  • Proven track record of working in the health sector, particularly in a senior SI Manager or Advisor capacity.
  • Previous experience with USAID and other similar donor organizations, specifically in Zambia, is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with private sector stakeholders in Zambia is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in SmartCare, DHIS2, and MS SQL is required.
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems creatively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team with local and remote members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English are required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Zambia as needed.
