Job Description


Our client, a Crop Science Innovation company, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Stores Intern to join their team. The Stores Intern will assist in various store operations, inventory management, and support in ensuring the efficient functioning of the stores department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issuing and receiving of Packaging Correctly.
  • Monitor stock position of consumables and inform the plant supervisor 1 month before production of stock is completed.
  • Ensure proper house keeping.
  • Ensure only approved quantities are issued for production.
  • Update all issued and received stock in the packaging consumable report daily/within 24hrs of stock movements.
  • Participate actively on EHS and quality programs.
  • Participate in 5 WHY problem solving identifying corrective and preventative actions.
  • Adhere to all the procedures in stores or related.
  • Stock monitoring and management of all the consumables.
  • Record all daily movements accordingly.
  • Prepare and document material transfers while adhering to established procedures.
  • Manage personnel to ensure excellent housekeeping.
  • Complete documentation and report stock availability in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and control of inventory on a regular basis to ensure zero variance between pastel and physical stock.
  • Check that the quantity on the PO corresponds with the invoice and the physical stock received and ensure this is submitted to the plant supervisor for signing immediately received.
  • Count all the stock weekly.
  • Reconcile inventory every week and submit to the Conditioning Plant inventory specialist. Should there be any deviation a root cause must be done immediately and submitted for reviews to the plant supervisor.
  • Counting and receiving of all consumable stock for the Processing plant.
  • Actively report safety observation and near misses.
  • Ensure there is no mix-up of variety stickers by putting all items where they are supposed to be.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must possess a Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Have have completed a diploma/degree in Logistics, Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be eager to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Must have a ZIPS or CIPS certification.
