Job description:
Purpose of the Role:
The Storeman is responsible for managing stock and equipment for the club house and ensure that stock levels do not run out, track inventory as well as keeping records of where the inventory and stocks are going.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Keep track of what is available in inventory.
- Monitor current stock levels to decide if more should be ordered, as well as organizing existing inventory so that it is easily and safely accessible.
- Monitor where the inventory is going, along with how much each section is spending.
- Receive all deliveries of stock and ensure that the stock is not damaged.
- Ensure that everything ordered is present and accounted for.
- Responsible for organizing the dispatch of goods and products.
- Ensure that the product is suitably packaged and that the delivery service used meets delivery time constraints.
- Ensure the safety and security of the stock by seeing to it that there are adequate and effective security systems in place, including guards, cameras and alarm systems.
- Adhere to health and safety rules.
- Ensure that all stock has visible part and/or serial numbers.
- Maintain effective stock control at all times.
- Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 school certificate.
- Diploma in purchasing and supply
- 2-3 years’ work experience in similar role
- Must demonstrate very good record-keeping skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Must possess good numeracy skills
- Should be able to operator a point of sale
