We are currently looking for a versatile and experienced individual to fill the role of Soils and Construction Materials Lab Technician.
Responsibilities
• Perform on-site collection and evaluation of soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Carry out field investigations and laboratory analyses of construction materials.
• Analyze the laboratory test results, and compile reports.
• Uphold quality control measures and established protocols/standards to guarantee the precision of measurements and record-keeping.
• Create thorough, accurate, and clear documentation utilizing electronic systems and field notebooks.
• Provide support for additional laboratory and fieldwork tasks as needed.
• Supervise junior lab technicians.

Qualifications and Experience
• Full grade twelve certificate with five credits or better.
• A minimum of a diploma in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field obtained from a reputable institution.
• Must be a fully paid up (2024) registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Skills certificate training in Construction Materials Testing (NCC will be an added advantage).
• Minimum of five (5) years of proven work experience in field and laboratory soil sampling and testing procedures.
• Strong knowledge of soils and construction materials quality standards (British standards, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, PowerPoint).
• Strong mathematical, analytical, multitasking, innovative and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
