Responsibilities:

As a Social Worker at the Free Haven Community Initiative, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

Assessment and Client Support:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ needs, strengths, and challenges.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with students to address their social, emotional, and practical needs.

Counseling and Intervention:

Provide counseling and emotional support to students facing various challenges, such as mental health issues, family problems, or substance abuse.
Implement evidence-based interventions to promote positive outcomes for students.

Advocacy and Case Management:

Advocate for students’ rights and access to services within the community and social service systems.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Collaboration and Networking:

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and community organizations, to coordinate services for students.
Establish and maintain strong networks with local resources and agencies to support students’ needs.

Community Outreach and Education:

Conduct community outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about social issues and available support services.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions on relevant topics as needed.

Crisis Intervention:

Respond to crisis situations promptly, providing immediate assistance and referrals as required.
Implement crisis management strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Self-Care and Professional Development:

Prioritize self-care practices to maintain personal well-being in a challenging field.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in social work.

Please note that these responsibilities may evolve and adapt based on the needs of our organization and the clients we serve. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable students in our community and helping them achieve their full potential.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary package for the position of Social Worker, ranging from approximately K5000 to K6000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
