Job description:
Overall Job Purpose:
Implement and continuously improve the equipment maintenance strategy for all Earthmoving equipment and ensure that they are effectively executed including all preventative maintenance tasks and condition monitoring routines. The Senior Technician, Condition Monitoring & QC will be responsible for providing the job on training and advising of Artisans as well as completing and verifying inspections are completed correctly.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive Workshop and Field-Based maintenance/repair support and ensuring allocated plant is safely maintained/repaired to the required standard with operational effectiveness maintained.
- Enhance equipment availability by following a proactive inspection routine with particular attention to planned maintenance philosophy.
- Provide leadership and mentoring, including on-going training and development.
- Identifying and scheduling future planned repairs.
- Work closely with Planners and contribute to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement going forward
- Ability to use Root-cause analysis tools in investigating breakdowns and sub-standard performance of equipment.
- Perform inspections on completed jobs.
- Adhere to safe working procedures for all work areas.
- Perform inspections on all equipment, scope repairs required and identify replacement parts required.
- Carry out on-the-job training and mentoring of department members.
- Manage daily time & attendance.
Job Specific Competencies
- Tertiary qualification and/or recognized trade certificate.
- A minimum of 8-10 years` experience in heavy mechanical equipment.
- Experience in the maintenance of mining equipment
- Strong focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to navigate MS Office and Pronto
- Report writing and data compiling
- Strong leadership
- Experience with work permit systems and safe work procedures to control maintenance activities and manage hazards associated with mining industry.

Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
- At least 5 years in a senior supervisory role.
- Experience in mining or other heavy duty industry.
- A minimum of an appropriate Trade certification and experience with Mining Equipment.
