Job Purpose

Shall be responsible for all agricultural activities and oversee occupational health and safety.

Shall be responsible for the coordination and implementation of agricultural activities that include overseeing the fertilization, planting, cultivation and harvesting of crops,among others.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the fertilisation, planting, irrigation, cultivation and harvesting of crops on a crop farm.
Coordinate agriculture activities with Agricultural Officer and share knowledge/best practices.
Provide practical training to the agriculture field captains in line with crop life cycle.
Develop quarterly and monthly work plan and budget plans, including monthly monitoring plan.
Conduct regular visits to farm fields, identify technical problems investigate causes, provide effective solutions to assure crop quality and low crop damage and ensure increased crop production levels.
Provide information or recommendations regarding ways in which land can best be used to promote growth or avoid and correct problems such as erosion.
Develop new or improved methods or products for controlling or eliminating weeds, crop diseases, or insect pests and identify or classify species of insects such as locust.
Develop activities monthly report and include agriculture activities progress

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 Certificate
Diploma/ Professional Qualification in relevent field
Professional Membership
5 years work experience in similar position
