Introduction:

Chengelo School is a Christian, International, boarding school with a vision to provide the best quality education to produce future generations of leaders for Zambia and beyond. Located in a beautiful setting in rural Zambia the school comprises both Primary and Secondary sections as well as an Outdoor Education Centre.

We are currently looking for a qualified nurse to join our healthcare team. In this position, you will support the senior nurses in the professional and efficient running of the school clinic. You should be highly committed to best practices, knowledgeable of compliance requirements, and able to perform well within a team environment.

General Responsibilities:

• To provide Nursing and Obstetric Care to students, employees and the general community.
• To promote and prioritise patient safety.
• To practice in accordance with relevant legislation, HPCZ requirements and School policies.
• Practice nursing in accordance with nursing ethics.
• Provide great customer care to all service users and have a customer centred approach.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Qualified Registered nurse with a Diploma in nursing (essential).
• Degree in nursing (favourable).
• More than 2 years’ experience in a fast paced nursing role.
• Previous experience working with young people or a school setting (desirable).
• Proficient in IT and operating multiple software packages. Experience in using medical software packages is desirable.
• Knowledge and demonstrable ability to administer first aid and general medical equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and values working as a team.
• Ability to assess symptoms and administer medicine proficiently.
