MPower Ventures, a pan-African venture-backed start-up in the clean energy space (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an energetic new Sales & Admin Associate in Zambia. Together with our partners, MPower has already supplied thousands of customers with its solar systems. Our products range from solar home systems with matching appliances such as TVs, fans, and refrigerators to productive use appliances and large systems for SMEs and medium-income class households. Our portfolio has recently been complemented with electric-powered vehicles, making us one of the most innovative clean energy providers in Zambia.

MPower Zambia is currently looking for an independent and entrepreneurial Sales & Marketing Associate based in Lusaka. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field.

Position Overview

The position’s owner plays a key role in supporting both the local Sales Team and Global Marketing Team by:

  • Managing the virtual community of followers on social media.
  • Ensuring efficient online Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Enhancing customer commitment and satisfaction.
  • This position reports to the local Head of Sales and is also linked to the supervision of the Global Head of Marketing.
  • S/he is responsible for implementing adequate marketing actions to directly impact sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Ensure prompt response to customer needs and make information accessible.
  • Sales Goals: Meet set sales goals and targets.
  • Revenue and Market Growth: Contribute to the company’s revenue and market share growth.
  • Social Media Management:
    • Monitor the local Facebook page and WhatsApp Business to increase visibility.
    • Post content and designs to improve the company’s reputation on social media.
  • Marketing Strategy: Align with the Marketing and local sales team to develop new marketing strategies that fit current market needs.
  • Training & Development:
    • Support the training of co-workers on marketing techniques.
    • Share best practices and trends to enhance marketing skills.
  • Deadline Management: Ensure deadlines are met for every expected delivery on tasks internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other duties as needed in the scope of this role.

Requirements

  • Holder of Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma.
  • 2 or more years of experience, with a proven track record of achievements.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with an eye for detail.
  • High knowledge of CRM Software.
  • Digital Marketing skills are a must.
  • In-depth understanding of products and continuous research.
  • Ability to profile and categorize potential clients, understand their needs, and address them in a satisfactory way.
  • Proficiency with Database Management and familiarity with basic business software.
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry is an asset.
  • Member of the Zambian Institute of Marketing.
