Job Role

ProWeb is on a mission to revolutionize how entrepreneurs, startups and small business operate their business online in Zambia. We want to give start-ups, entrepreneurs and small businesses peace of mind and the power of online solutions to allow them to focus on their core business. We are thus seeking a full-time sales executive at our HQ in Lusaka. You will have the opportunity to partner with the engineering & marketing teams to drive new business opportunities & sales pipelines as well as to manage inbound & outbound leads. You must be an innovative, adaptable and target-oriented sales person with an excellent knowledge of sales, sales processes and CRM software. We require a person with the ability to understand current and new product and service lines in our company. We also require that you have the ability to understand client needs and relate them to the solutions we offer. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, execute product/service sales, make periodic sales reports & presentations and perform other tasks as specified.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Outline innovative sales approaches and develop specialised sales strategies geared towards sale of identified software products and services to prospective customers to adopt
  • Inspire and engage highly qualified inbound & outbound leads with our products and service offerings via meetings, emails, messages and calls at small and mid-sized companies
  • Analyse data from marketing personnel and use it to convert leads into clients
  • Provide accurate weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecasts
  • Run a full sales cycle and close new business to consistently exceed quota
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and engineering departments to execute sales strategy as the firm introduces enhancements to existing solutions and/or releases new products
  • Collect customer feedback and liaise with the Project/Product Manager(s) to give business direction into product development to ensure that ProWeb delivers unique, superior products and services that differentiate within the marketplace and deliver benefits and value to the client
  • Attend key conferences and trade shows for client and competitor analysis, to identify market trends, engage users and potential purchasers of ProWeb’s products and services and generate leads
  • Manage client correspondence and communications and ensure all client activities are logged in the company CRM
  • Compile and present sales reports on a quarterly basis and as frequently as needed

Qualifications and Skills

Academic

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Development or related field with minimum 3 years proven working experience in Sales
  • OR Advanced Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Development or related field with minimum 5 years proven working experience in Sales
  • Professional courses, certificates, diplomas in a web development, software engineering or related field is an added advantage

  • Have ability to understand the company’s technological product/service offerings
  • Have ability to understand and interpret client needs in line with our product/service offering

Communication

  • Have ability to communicate clearly, effectively and capable of inspiring and motivating prospects/leads into becoming clients
  • Have ability to engage professionally with the the team and co-workers
  • An advanced level of English language with good listening & presentation skills

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

  • Able to self-diagnose, to find and synthesise information, apply logic to problems and quickly analyse to provide a recommendation or an actionable solution

Drive

  • A highly motivated and self-confident individual with the a consistent drive to achieve your personal and professional goals
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of enthusiasm and productivity even in a high pressured environment/situation

Approach

  • A keen eye for detail in all aspects of work
  • An innate desire to learn and understand concepts and ask thoughtful questions
  • Humble, acknowledge strengths and weaknesses and take feedback well

Technology

  • Familiarity of working with a CRM system
  • IT literacy with advanced Microsoft Office Skills

Other

  • Candidate’s CVs should clearly demonstrate relevant working experience in sales through appropriate descriptions of similar positions previously held and duties involved. It must also provide traceable references. Prior experience in a technology company is a plus.
