Job title : sales / business development manager
Grade: senior management
Department : marketing
Reporting : you will report to the managing director.

Job purpose:

Oversee the marketing and sales function
Determine the marketability of products, old and new
Direct the distribution of goods by assigning territories and setting sales goals
Perform complex product research prior to introducing products in non-traditional market places
Job duties:

Manage the day to day marketing and sales of products
Work with team members to devise marketing and advertising plans
Budget and devise advertising strategies, obtain approval and implement
Look for new markets for the company’s products
Determine, in concert with other team members, pricing and product placement
Advise and manage sales representatives and devise ways to improve sales
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales
Prepare sales budgets and expenditures
Analyse sales statistics to determine sales and inventory
Project sales and determine profitability of products and services
Determine discount rates or special pricing plans
Plan and cordinate training programs for sales staff
Work closely with and communicate with other managers and departments
Collect and interpret complex data and advise superiors as appropriate on effective sales strategies
