Naipu Mining Machinery (Zambia) Company Limited is a manufacturing enterprise which always concentrates on the mine selection equipment and rubber wear spare parts. Our plant is based in Sabina area and our target is serving the African mining markets with durable mining machines spare parts.

Naipu Mining Machinery (Z) Co. Limited now seeks to recruit suitably qualified individuals to fill in the vacant position of Safety Officer.

Job Purpose

Ensure all elements of SAFETY Management system are fully understood, implemented and communicated to all engaged operations and Maintenance employees and visitors at site. Also to ensure all requirements oflSO 45001, TSO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 are implemented and maintained as per procedure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:-

SAFETY OFFICER is responsible for monitoring, Advising and implementation of Safety, Health, and Environment and Quality requirements during construction, operations and maintenance of Naipu Mining Machinery ( Zambia) Company Limited.

The SAFETY OFFICER is bound to STOP, REMOVE or SUSPEND any operations, Maintenance which he may deem to be very dangerous and likely to cause/result into an accident or disaster. Below are the assigned duties and responsibilities, but not limited to the following:

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with supervisor’s onsite to proactively prevent unsafe Acts or any potential safety violations.
  • Assessing, implementing and recording of weekly and monthly machinery/equipment checklists (Welding Machine checklists, Mobile crane checklists, safety harness checklist, gas cutting sets checklists etc.)
  • Conducting of operations and Maintenance training Programs (Inductions, refresher and other training’s) to all site based employees.
  • Conducting, Compiling and reporting of incident investigation reports (Accidents, Near misses, property damages etc.)
  • Facilitating the issuance of Personal Protective equipment’s (PPE) to New and Existing Employees
  • Attending to emergency situations at Site
  • Ensure Compliance and monitoring of daily Tool Box Talk
  • Inspection of Safety signage’s, and fire fighting equipment’s
  • Conducting Alcohol monitoring to all employees

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Diploma In Occupational Health and Safety.
  • A degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar position
  • Proven experience as safety officer
