CALL OF APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF REGISTRAR
The Zambia Catholic University is inviting applicants for the position of Registrar. The Search Committee acting on behalf of the University Council invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the appointment to the position.

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the post holder is responsible for the dayto-day administration of the University and is the custodian of the University seal and University assets.

DUTIES
The main duties of the position of Registrar are:

Arranging University Council and Senate Meetings and committees holding power delegated by the University Council including preparation and circulating of agendas, reports, documents and any other matters requiring action

Attending meetings and recording minutes and advising the Chairperson and members as necessary on the questions of statutory and University policy

Interpreting registration policies to faculties and students

Controlling all Registry activities such as evaluation and issuance of transcripts and evaluation of academic records of students desiring to enter the University

Administering staff recruitment and industrial relations policies and maintenance of harmonious working conditions

Organizing and administering the records, registration and graduation ceremonies.

Responsible for the collection, recording maintaining and reporting of student records and ensure such are within University guidelines and Ministry of higher Education

Providing leadership and collaborate with other administrators in developing appropriate recommendations for the implementation appropriate technology for enhanced services in the University

Responsible for all assets of the University including maintenance of buildings and fleet of vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a holder of a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or any other relevant social science

Must have at least ten (10) years’ experience in an educational institution five of which should be at senior management level

Must possess good computer skills

Must be a team player and possess high interpersonal and communication oral and written skills

Must be self-confident, self-motivated, open and receptive to advice

Membership of professional bodies will be an advantage

Must be a practicing Christian.

REMUNERATION
The University offers a remuneration package for the person appointed to the position of Registrar as determined by the Council from time to time.

TENURE OF OFFICE
The Tenure of office for the Registrar shall be four (4) years and could be given another contract of same duration (4 years only) depending on performance and upon successful completion of the first term.
