Job Description
Thrive Africa Network is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Regional Director for Southern Africa. This is an exciting volunteer opportunity to play a pivotal role in expanding our mission, vision, and values across the Southern African region.
Location: Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe)
Position Type: Volunteer
Time Commitment: At least 10 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Develop and implement strategic plans tailored to the unique needs of the Southern African region.
Establish regional goals and objectives aligned with Thrive Africa Network’s mission and vision.
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage regional teams, providing mentorship and support to ensure effective performance.
Act as the primary representative of Thrive Africa Network in Southern Africa.
Membership Growth and Engagement:
Design and execute innovative recruitment campaigns to attract new members.
Develop programs to engage and retain existing members, fostering a strong community spirit.
Partnership and Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders.
Collaborate on joint initiatives and projects that align with Thrive Africa Network’s goals.
Advocacy and Outreach:
Increase awareness of Thrive Africa Network’s mission and values through various outreach activities.
Advocate for issues and causes important to the organization and its members.
Resource Mobilization:
Lead regional fundraising efforts, securing financial support from various sources.
Manage regional resources efficiently, ensuring funds support strategic initiatives.
Program Development and Management:
Develop and oversee programs addressing the unique needs of the region.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of regional programs, making necessary adjustments.
Communication and Reporting:
Provide regular updates and reports to the central leadership on regional activities.
Maintain transparent communication with members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience within non-profit organizations or similar settings.
Deep understanding of the socio-political and cultural dynamics of Southern Africa.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders and ability to work with and motivate volunteers.
Innovative and resourceful, with a knack for problem-solving.
A genuine passion for Thrive Africa Network’s mission and values.
