Job Description
Kafakumba Clinic is Christ Centered healthcare facility located on the Ndola-Kitwe Dual Carriageway just before Baluba. We are dedicated to delivering affordable yet exceptional patient care through our skilled team of professionals and diagnostic equipment. As we are growing, we are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Radiology Protection Officer to join our team and ensure the safety and protection of our staff, patients, and visitors from radiation exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
Radiation Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor radiation protection programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments for radiology procedures and equipment, identifying potential hazards and recommending mitigation measures.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all radiology activities comply with local and national regulations, including the maintenance of required documentation and licenses.
Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to staff on radiation protection practices, including the safe use of radiological equipment.
Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee the monitoring of radiation levels, conduct regular audits, and report findings to management. Investigate incidents of radiation exposure and implement corrective actions.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure radiological equipment is regularly inspected, maintained, and calibrated to minimize risks of radiation exposure.
Liaison Role: Act as the primary contact for radiation protection matters, working closely with regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in radiology protection or similar role.
- Certification in Radiation Protection is highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of radiation safety regulations, radiological physics, and medical imaging technologies.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
- Proactive, safety-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement in radiation safety practices.
