Job Description
The Centre for the Promotion of Literacy in Sub-Saharan Africa of the University of Zambia will be conducting an ENDLINE survey on the Contribution of Catch Up to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in Primary Education study as sub- contracted by VVOB Zambia, in two target provinces; Lusaka and Central. Data collection for the SEL study is planned for the first week of September to the first week of October, 2022.
CAPOLSA now seeks applications from eligible and available Zambian nationals to participate in the Endline evaluation as i) Quality Control Officers (5) and ii) Assessors (20).
1. Quality Control Officers (QCO)/Supervisors (5)
Duties
- To provide quality control of the data collected by the assessors during the SEL data collection exercise; manage assessors and ensure that all data collected adheres to minimum standards; & collect data on the study.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- First Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and data management.
- Experience working with children or conducting data collection with children.
- MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
Strong command of ciNyanja, ciBemba or ciTonga languages. - Must be amenable to instruction.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
2. Assessors (20)
Duties
- Data collection.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Minimum Diploma or Higher Diploma in primary education; social sciences or a relevant field. Degree will be an added advantage.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and data management.
- Experience working with children or conducting data collection on children.
- MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
- Excellent command of ciNyanja, ciBemba or ciTonga languages.
- Must be amenable to instruction.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
