Job Summary

Public Passenger Bus conductors check and issue tickets and ensure the safety and comfortability of all passengers on the bus

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES

a)    Collecting and issuing tickets and checking the validity of tickets

b)    Opening and closing doors for passengers

c)    Responding to passenger requests and complaints and providing information about stops

d)    Takes appropriate action in case of emergencies or accidents

e)    Facilitates the loading and off-loading of passengers, goods and luggage

f)     Provides assistance with boarding and sitting of passengers

g)    Ensures that safety regulations and requirements are respected

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

a)    Must be a holder of a grade 12 school certificate

b)    Good oral and written communication skills

c)    Physically fit

d)    Good team player

e)    Good customer care

f)     Knowledgeable about the Zambia Highway code

g)    Basic mathematical and accounting skills

h)    A crafts certificate in mechanics will be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE AND AGE

a)    Five years proven working experience in a reputable transport company

b)    Must be between 20-30 years old

WORKING HOURS

a)    This job entails working between the hours of 4am -22am depending on the operational schedule

b)    The job entails frequent travels both in sociable and unsociable hours on the buses and to operational areas

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

a)    The role reports to the Transport and Operations Supervisor

b)    The jobholder will work with a diversified and multidisciplinary team and customer segments

JOB LOCATION

a)   Lusaka

b)   Mansa
