Project Driver Position-One (1) Position

Location: Ndola

Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Manager, the project drivers will facilitate the transport services as required for the smooth implementation of the GBV prevention and care project.

  • Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other related goods and supplies in/out of the project area under the authorization of the supervisor.
  • Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
  • Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
  • Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Valid and clean Driver’s license of at least class C.
  • Certificate in Mechanics is an added advantage.
  • 5 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair, including significant field operations experience running both emergency and development programs

Key Skills

  • Ability to multitask and work calmly under pressure is essential;
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly in terms of work hours and assignments;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in an insecure environment is critical;
  • Practical experience of user vehicle maintenance;
  • Ability to understand PPAZ/JOICFP’s mission and core values.
