Access to Health Zambia (formerly Catholic Medical Mission Board Zambia, CMMB-Z) is a faith-based local organization dedicated to providing long-term, cooperative medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and healthcare challenges. Job Title: Project Coordinator

Location: Mbala
Reporting to: Technical Director

Position Summary:

The Project Coordinator will lead the planning and implementation of the project Strengthening Engagement with Adolescents and Communities to End Child Marriage and Adolescent Pregnancy in Zambia. S/He will manage the implementation of approved project strategies, including the Young Men as Equal Partners (YMEP), Start, Awareness, Support, Action (SASA!), Men Taking Action (MTATM), Peer Educator/Mentors, and Life Skills and Health Education (LSHE) for children in and out of school.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Planning, Implementation, and Reporting:

  • Conduct SASA! and YMEP training, mentorship, and supportive supervision for trained facilitators of SASA! dialogues, In & Out of School facilitators, CSE Champion of Change, and HIV Prevention Champions addressing social and cultural norms, and gender equity.
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other partners, especially those funded by UNICEF and other NGOs, to facilitate Life Skills and Health Education (LSHE) for both in-school and out-of-school children.
  • Support the planning and implementation of strategies, approaches, and models to end child marriage and adolescent pregnancy, including coordinating district-level project mechanisms and meetings.
  • Consolidate and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports covering success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from the district level.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement district-level trainings and facilitate engagement with adolescent groups, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of Preventing and Ending Child Marriage (ECM) at the district level through media campaigns such as radio programs and other platforms.
  • Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly implementation plans and budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the MoE, Ministry of Health, MCDMCH, MoCTA, MGCD, and others, and ensure plans are shared with all partners.

Coordination, Supervision, and Monitoring:

  • Conduct monitoring and supervisory visits to ensure effective implementation of district-level interventions.
  • Participate in district and community-level technical working group meetings and provide key input in discussions related to the project.
  • Facilitate referrals to high-impact services (e.g., survivor support, One Stop Centre services) and ensure that over 90% of referrals are completed successfully.
  • Submit consolidated reports (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual) on project activities, ensuring accuracy in data collection, review, analysis, and updating of district M&E data and databases.
  • Participate in important district-level meetings such as DDCC and commemoration activities to maintain visibility and enhance project outreach.
  • Liaise with M&E Manager to conduct quarterly Data Quality Assurance (DQA) and ensure data is captured and updated regularly at the district level.
  • Implement and coordinate community activities in line with the Annual Work Plan and Budget.
  • Attend to any other assignments as delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in NGO development programming and program management, especially in adolescent health and gender equity.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer literacy (Microsoft Office and other relevant software).
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong background in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) with the ability to analyze and report on project data.
  • Valid motorbike license (required for travel to field locations).
