Job Description


Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Productivity Trainer to join the versatile Mining Training team.

Reporting to the Coordinator – Mining Training, you will be responsible for conducting excavator/ shovel productivity improvement analysis, closing gaps-based business need and training both in field and simulated environment.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

Implementation of comprehensive training programs designed to ensure all excavator & shovel operators are given the highest skill level, knowledge and expected attitude to achieve excellence in the mine equipment operations.
Conducting daily machine productivity analysis on all loading units during operations in a safe and productive manner to meet LMC operating standards.
Identifying and rectifying setbacks to productivity of excavators and shovels.
Supporting the compliance to the Operator Competency Scorecard.
Maintaining a pro-active approach to all aspects of productivity and behavioral safety and encouraging teamwork within the department in line with Lumwana Mining Company values.
Minimizing costs through efficient operations of gear by providing expertise.
Managing equipment , coach and mentor team members to emulate good standards
Assisting with incident investigations as and when required.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements

Grade 12 certificate
Diploma or related qualification in training and assessment
Five (5(years’ experience in mining environment
Certificate of competence in both excavators, and shovels
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, power point presentations and spreadsheet applications.
Must have sound Knowledge of safe working procedures and mine operations
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Previous experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.
