Job Description
Procurement Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Procurement Specialist will execute day-to-day procurement and contract administration activities of the Program as per the set procedures, manual, template, and guidelines and will assist senior members of the team in implementing tasks related to the procurement of large value goods, works, and services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum three years of experience working as a procurement, supply chain or logistics professional.
- Experience working with international development institutions’ procurement guidelines and procedures
- Good understanding of best practices in procurement procedures
- Experience in the development of procurement documents, i.e. bidding documents, evaluation reports, contracts, etc.
- Prior contract administration experience
- Experience working on projects dealing with road as well as finance and agricultural sectors, is desirable
- Proactive and quick learner; demonstrated ability to work on a team. Strong communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business, law, economics, finance, or public administration
- Fluency in English – reading, writing, and speaking.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint. Prior experience with SAP system is an added advantage.
