Billiam works limited is a privately held company based on the Copperbelt and specialized in maintenance and repair, as well as the supply of a wide range of spare parts for heavy machinery such as; Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Sino truck, Hyndai, Shantui, Liugong Spare etc.
About the role:
Billiam works limited is looking for an experienced individual to spearhead their procurement team as a procurement manager. As a procurement manager you are responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process within the organization. This role involves strategic planning and ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement operations. You will collaborate with various departments and to understand their needs, identify suitable suppliers, and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand long-term procurement needs.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Review, finalize, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Leadership:
- Supervise and lead the procurement team, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Generate and analyze reports on procurement activities.
- Provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the procurement process.
Market Analysis and Research:
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and new products or services.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in purchasing and supply or any related field
- At least 5 years + proven experience in procurement or a similar role.
- Knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
