Job Purpose

• To plan, organise, and implement an engaging teaching program in the Primary Section that guides and challenges students to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to fulfil their potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a primary class, supporting and nurturing the holistic development of all pupils.
• Work closely with the Head Teacher and colleagues to ensure effective teaching and learning.
• Plan and implement a relevant, challenging, and rigorous curriculum.
• Deliver lessons with appropriate differentiation.
• Contribute to collaborative learning at all levels of school life.
• Create an inquiry-based classroom environment that develops critical thinking skills.
• Select relevant resources and leverage digital tools to enhance learning.
• Develop assessment tasks and provide timely, effective feedback.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Provide pastoral support as needed.
• Participate actively in the school’s extra-curricular programs.
• Perform any other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:

• Full Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better including English.
• 2+ years of experience at a reputable school.
• Primary Teacher’s Diploma or higher.
• Registered and licensed member of the Teaching Council of Zambia.
• Creative and enthusiastic approach in and out of the classroom.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong IT and interpersonal skills.
• A growth mindset.
