Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Perform the duties of a licensed Pharmacy Technologist; ensures the safety and security of merchandise; ensures rigid adherence to all laws and regulations governing the sale of pharmaceutical products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administer prescription medicines to the customers.
Make sure medicines supplied correspond with the prescriptions
Make sure there is no dispensing error
Preparation of medicines not made-up by the manufacturer
Keep a register of specialised drugs for stock control and legal purposes
Sell medicines over-the-counter
Counsel and advise customers on the treatment of minor ailments
Monitor blood pressure, as well as cholesterol levels of customers when the need arises
Offer diabetes screening exercise
Arrange the delivery of prescribed medicines to patients
Supervise, manage and train pharmacy support staff
Participate in budget and financial management
Update self regularly with current pharmacy practice, invention of new drugs and their uses
Advice customers on health issues and medications
Assist in training, and managing support staff
Order, sell, and control medicines together with other stock
Make Weekly Purchases of Stock needed
Manage the merchandising of drugs and cosmetics
Ensure the Pharmacy is clean and orderly at all times.
Monitoring and managing of expired and soon to be expired drugs.
Daily monitoring and recording of Temperature in the Dispensary and Fridge.
Give necessary feedback to management.
Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.
Performs all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certificate, and Licensure
Full Grade 12 Certificate; Diploma in Pharmacy from an accredited College or University; Fully registered with HPCZ, at least two years experience in Retail Pharmacy; Must live near Ibex Twin Palm Road.
Requirements
Must demonstrate practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to the industry. Additionally, the applicant is expected to demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental program structure (Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements) and department policies and procedures. Have the ability to demonstrate effective time management skills while working independently with minimal supervision and supervising others.
Leadership Requirements
Must demonstrate proficient ability to directly supervise department personnel in a manner consistent with company policies and applicable laws. This includes include training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and complaint resolution.
Availability
Availability to work regularly scheduled shifts consistently and be available when needed.
