Pharmacy Technologist
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Supports the Pharmacological services by maintaining pharmacovigilance, stocking, recording, assembling and distributing medications and other Pharmaceutical products.
MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluating information on written prescriptions for completeness and accuracy/refill requests from patients
- Locating, dispensing, packing, and labelling of prescribed medication for a patient.
- Delivering quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests and referring them to the Senior Pharmacy Technologist / Clinical Pharmacist for medical information.
- Maintaining the drug inventory, performing monthly inventory audits in both SAP/Hospital dispensing system.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock, prepare needed medications and supplies by placing, expediting orders and receipt verification
- Maintain patient and pharmacy records.
- Costing of prescriptions for fee paying clients.
- Conduct pharmacovigilance and submit adverse drug reaction (ADR) reports to the Clinical Pharmacist.
- Compile monthly statistics report.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 school certificate
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution.
- Ability to use Computer for day-to-day tasks
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Must have a full registration certificate and valid practising license from HPCZ
- Member of Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia (PSZ
