VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT- MINING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed and passionate employee for the position of Mining Information Technology Specialist to join the versatile Mining Team.

Reporting to the Dispatch Coordinator – Data Reporting, you will be responsible for carrying out technical support to the fleet management system and other mining information systems. Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

• Provide operational reports on an hourly, daily, weekly and monthly basis using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Python and SQL server reporting services.
• Schedule/automate operational reports to execute on regular interval.
• Develop improvement plan and deliver on results as per the set KPI’s
• Ensure data quality by reviewing and reconciling data in the fleet management system with the survey pickup
• Perform third level system administration and support to end user on the fleet management system.
• Create new tables and views in the Jmineops database
• Ensure viable disaster recovery and backup plans are in place, tested and documented.
• Manage and monitor all mining mobile equipment on the pit W-FI network.
• Actively monitor systems and their related statistics and effectively troubleshoot system issues.
• Review and update procedures and systems to meet changing requirements of the operations.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Degree in information system or  computer science or its equivalent from a recognized university.
• At least two (2) years’ experience  in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office SQL server database administration and advanced excel.
• Experience in fleet management systems, caterpillar MineStar and Wenco and data visualization will be an added advantage.
• Must be a member of the ICTAZ or EIZ body of Professionals.
• An additional postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
• A holder of a valid Zambian driver’s license
