Job Description
Lumwana Mining seeks to recruit highly energetic, committed and passionate Zambians for the position of Mine Dispatcher to join the versatile Mining team.
Reporting to the Supervisor- Dispatch you will be responsible for ensuring accurate recording of machine production & availability of data by constant monitoring of the dispatch Fleet Management System. Monitoring correct usage communication involving extensive use of the dispatch fleet management system, the 2-way radio and telephone system. Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
Uphold & reinforce the safety principles of the mine site by always acting in a safety conscious manner and encouraging all personnel to work safely.
Ensure optimal use of the Hexagon systems: OP Pro FMS, Operator Alertness System (Fatigue), High Precision GPS, Reverse Assist and Collision Avoidance System.
Ensure accurate recording of machine production and availability of data by constant monitoring of the Hexagon systems
Assist in reducing maintenance response times by providing appropriate communication and information to maintenance personnel.
Provide effective communication through use of Hexagon systems and the 2-way radio system
Work closely with Superintendents, Coordinators, Supervisors, Operational Technology, Engineers and Operators to ensure the system has maximum up time and records data accurately.
Assist with training Operators in the use of Hexagon systems and promptly communicate any equipment maintenance requirements.
Interact on continuous basis with the field production supervisors and assist with making good production decisions to maximize productivity and recovery.
Assist with setting up the Hexagon system prior to the beginning of each shift to avoid delays and interruptions during the shift.
Take a pro-active approach to performance improvement by monitoring and analysing production data and determining improved methods of working.
Liaise with the Production Engineers to ensure that short term production goals are achieved through correct equipment allocation.
Monitor the system to ensure productivity and cost reduction gains are being fully realised.
Ensure that all production data is captured accurately and validated throughout the shift and ensure that the data is available in a timely manner for daily KPI reporting.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 Certificate
Must have certificate in Information technology or any other relevant qualification
A diploma or degree in Mining or related engineering discipline is an added advantage
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Ability to understand mining equipment optimization concepts (sense of productivity)
Proactive in decision making.
