Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and agribusiness company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region.  It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stockfeed and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

MECHANICAL FOREMAN – NOVATEK LUSAKA (X1)

The Required Skills for this Role Include:

• Ensuring that subordinates work safely by using appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures. .
• Exhibiting proficiency in trouble shooting skills on mechanical and electrical problems in the plant and must be able to effectively repair procedures (RCA/CA), for subordinates to execute.
• Ensuring subordinates execute planned maintenance schedules, including servicing the machinery, test running and successful hand-over to production after maintenance.
• Preparing maintenance schedules, list of tools and spares required and recommend the same to the Maintenance Manager.
• Quality Assurance by practicing Feed Safety standards e.g., ZABS/ISO.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Planner, raise job cards for subordinates and ensure successful hand-over and job card closure.
• In consultation with the Maintenance Manager propose or execute short term projects.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Planner, prepare leave schedules for subordinates and ensure effective implementation.
• In consultation with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Planner, propose/prepare Training Schedules for the subordinates.
• Conducting performance reviews for the subordinates.
• Must be able to prepare and present Maintenance and Monthly feed Safety reports.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Planner, give regular updates to Management on the projects and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standard.

The Required Qualifications are:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 Credits
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• EIZ Membership
• Minimum of 3-years Hands on Experience.

• Ability to use Mechanical tools and measuring instruments
• Ability to interact with superior and subordinates, requiring tact
• Ability to complete proforma type documents
• Ability to concisely do Mathematical calculations for tolerances, quantities, etc
