Job Description
Purpose of the job
Under the general supervision of the CEO, the incumbent is responsible for managing and coordinating operational and technical services of ZGF, ensuring adequate and quality support services to the core business of ZGF are available; responsible for developing and implementing ZGF growth and sustainability strategy and maintaining national, regional and international strategic alliances and providing leadership for the management of the image and reputation of the Foundation.
Main duties
- Manages the operations portfolio including translation of strategic goals into organisational performance standards and targets;
- In liaison with other senior management team members, contributes to developing / review of ZGF medium and long-term growth and sustainability strategies and business plans in line with ZGF’s context, to ensure that ZGF remains relevant to society and always focused on its long-term goals and objectives;
- Engages various stakeholders to promote, expand and build the field philanthropy by influencing and negotiating with different actors to invest in sustainable local community initiatives;
- Coordinates research on available opportunities for philanthropic giving by the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Communications functions, supports growth of philanthropic services and initiatives for future exploitation to produce results from individual, families, corporations and international donors;
- In liaison with the CEO, identifies opportunities for resource mobilization, develops and manages the implementation of strategies for mobilizing different types of resources to secure sufficient financial, human and other resources for future development or ZGF expansion.
- Works with other Managers to facilitate the compilation of overall ZGF performance reports for management action and decision making.
- In liaison with the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, facilitate the design and implementation of strategies and approaches to organisational learning based on principles and practices of knowledge management to ensure that ZGF remains competitive in a dynamic environment
- Under the direct supervision of the CEO, builds networks and maintains positive relationships and communication with relevant Government departments, Cooperating Partners, national and international non-governmental organisations to promote the work and image of the Foundation
- Oversee the implementation of ZGF communication strategy and guides the development of the ZGF website, production of the periodic newsletter and other publications aimed at effective communication of programme objectives and operations of ZGF
- Carries out any related tasks that the Chief Executive Officer may from time-to-time reasonably request
Requirements
Education and Training: Ability to perform higher-level specialized work requiring full professional qualification or an appropriate Masters’ degree such as Development Studies, Business Administration, NGO Management, Project Management, Economics, Public Policy or equivalent
Relevant experience: Ten (10) years post-experience
