The Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Education established under the repealed Zambia Qualifications Authority Act No. 13 of 2011 and continues in existence under the Zambia Qualifications Act No. 8 of 2024. The Authority is mandated among other functions to develop, oversee, and maintain a National Qualifications Framework; register and accredit qualifications and ensure that standards and registered qualifications are internationally comparable; develop, publish and maintain national occupational standards for occupations in the Republic as well as establish and maintain a database of learning achievements in the Republic.
ZAQA is urgently seeking the services of a suitably qualified, experienced and self-motivated person to fill the position of:

FINANCE MANAGER

Overall Responsibilities

The Finance Manager is responsible for the management of the finance function of the Authority in order to ensure accountability of funds. The jobholder is responsible for annual budget preparation and consolidation, cash flow management, accounts receivables management and invoicing, inventory management, payroll processing, management of statutory returns and obligations, preparation of quarterly management accounts including variance analysis reports and preparation of draft financial statements for audit purposes.

Qualifications and Experience:

i) A full Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent
ii) Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent
iii) Minimum of 8 years’ experience, 4 of which should be at management level
iv) Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
v) Ability to write analytical and technical reports
vi) Advanced ability to communicate effectively in English
vii)Working proficiency in Sage Pastel Partner Accounting software is a must.
viii) Qualifications under (i) & (ii) above MUST be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority and verification/evaluation certificates submitted together with the application;
