Job Description
Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary
Reports to the Site Manager, the incumbent manages daily operations ensures parts and materials needed to carry out activities are ordered and works are done in an efficiently and timely manner.
Main Duties
- Develops and implements a comprehensive maintenance schedule.
- Proactively implements preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities while ensuring optimal utilization of resources such as labour, materials, and time, to achieve maintenance goals.
- Performs maintenance works in accordance with any contractual requirements.
- Ensures maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Promotes a culture of safety and ensures proper safety protocols are followed by maintenance personnel either in house or subcontracted personnel.
- Carries-out daily inspections of the site, tooling, equipment and workshop to ensure a safe work environment maintained by all personnel.
- Identifies training need of the maintenance team members and ensures necessary training is provided.
- Provides technical advice and support to trades persons on repairs.
- Tracks team performance, deals with daily issues through coaching, training, or other development actions.
- Builds effective teams by fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 certificate
- Diploma in Mechanical engineering or any related field.
- Must have 3 years relevant experience
- Ability to work creatively and independently to carry out assignments of a complex nature.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other professional staff members.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff.
