Job Description
Zambia Sugar Plc. is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd Group and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.
The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Learning and Development Officer in the Human Resource Department.
The position reports to the Learning & Development specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of a learning and development plan linked to business performance needs, competence gaps, implantation of an end-to-end learning and development programme covering key processes.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Support with developing a learning needs analysis by gathering, documenting and collating information.
- Support the development of the training plan and provides monthly updates against the plan and budget.
- Assist Competency Management through supporting the capturing of all relevant L&D events, in the maintenance of training records, in the design and delivery of learning solutions and training programmes and in the preparation of relevant documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and updating of training materials and with the design and delivery of learning solution.
- Facilitate the meaningful analysis of learning investment by analysing training data, identifying trends and making recommendations on actions required.
- Assist in the preparation of L&D reports for managers, employees and other stakeholders.
- Administer training payments and assists in the preparation of reports on learning budget performance.
- Support the development of competence for key jobs and talent pipeline.
- Provide co-ordination and support in all aspects of L&D including planning, preparation of learning materials, logistical support, payments of suppliers / training providers and reporting.
- Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Degree (Business / HR / Organisational Psychology or equivalent)
- 3-5 years’ work experience.
- Impressive, demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
- Paid up member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
