Job Description


An Income Auditor carries out daily checks of revenue via an Operations Audit

What will I be doing?

Reconcile and monitor commissions, housekeeper and rate discrepancies, and Conference and Banqueting Revenue against daily function sheets
• Check non-arrivals, late departures, no shows/voids, management bills, bill sequence and pay-outs
• Check bills signed to Room Account and record all covers
• Record Reset Counter
• Spot-check Function Diary and the settlement of function bills
• Reconcile telephone, all revenues, guest laundry income, corrections and allowances
• Ensure Advanced Deposits are current
• Recommend improvements to processes as required
• Execute on tasks/requests as instructed by the Finance Manager and/or Accounts Supervisor
• Check all the bookings of the Front Desk on the basis of the vouchers.
• Check the credit cards and City Ledger invoices.
• Enter sales into the financial accounts using the Summary of Night Auditors Report.
• Draw up the Daily Revenue Report and submit it
• Enter Front Desk and Restaurants bar sales into the accounts.
• Enter incoming payments into the corresponding accounts.
• Draw up the Cash Report.
• Submit manual credit cards.
• Print out and distribute telephone lists.
• Reconcile the accounts continuously.
• Check credit card payments, enter into the accounts and clarify possible inconsistencies.
• Pay House Funds.
• Draw up Safe List from the Front Desk.
• Ensure complimentary and house use accounts are approved by the General Manager
• Check credit card outstanding and send reminders as necessary.
• Careful and timely filing of all reports.
• Be prepared to assist anywhere in the Finance Department as and when business circumstances require this
• Spot-checks of cash float of all cashiers.
• Provides the Front Desk daily with the current exchange rates.
• Audits and follow-up with the Night Auditor on over & shorts.
• Ensure both Internal and External audit recommendations are implemented by all relevant parties and conduct other assigned audit activities

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Previous experience of working in a hotel Finance Department
Previous experience working in Front Office or hotel outlets
