Job Description
Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES), the leading supplier of premium brand products including Massey Ferguson tractors and generators, Baldan farm implements, and precision agriculture solutions has an immediate vacancy for an HR & Safety Officer to be based in Mazabuka.
Minimum Requirements
- University Degree in Social Sciences or Arts
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety and Human Resource Management
- Experience in Human Resources with sound knowledge of current Zambian legislation and legal requirements which impact upon Human Resource Policy as well as HR techniques in a multinational environment.
- Good communications skills
- Team worker and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the HR reporting systems to comply with reporting deadlines and guarantee high quality information is supplied.
- Ensure all employee physical files and in the HRIS are up to date,
- Maintain and manage leave records,
- Manage all IR matters including any legal requirements.
- Manage and provide professional guidance in all disciplinary processes.
- Implement short to long term manpower plans and to ensure that the company has professional first-class recruitment processes to ensure that the best talent is recruited.
- Develop, improve, implement, and maintain effective up to date Human Resources administration systems and procedures that will guarantee the smooth running and monitoring of the basic Human Resources related activities.
- Ensure that the team members are developed through on-the job activities, coaching and training so that they are fully equipped to take up current and future responsibilities.
- Implementation of the NOSA as well as the Environmental & Social management systems
- Assist in compiling the HSSE Plan for the site and ensure recommended corrective measures are implemented.
- Assist in risk identification, including social and environmental risks and take the necessary corrective action
- Development of safe work procedures for all identified high risk tasks
- Ensure that all accidents are properly recorded, reported and investigated.
- Ensure Safety team is formally appointed and trained.
- Ensure Contractors working in our premises and on our behalf comply with the HSSE requirements.
- Ensure effective reporting to management on deviations identified and required action to be taken.
- Ensure training needs are identified, recorded in a training register and implemented.
- Ensure all disabling incidents are reported as per national legislation requirements.
- Carry out incident investigations in liaison with other investigators.
