Human Resources (HR) Officer – REF HRAUG22

CFHRZ is looking for a HR Officer to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will support management and staff to be effective in their roles. The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, systems and pay plans according to the Zambia Laws and best practice guidelines
  • Be actively involved in the recruitment of new employees by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Prepare HR document templates such as contracts for employees (full time, or part- time), variation to contract letters, ensuring compliance with Zambia Legal framework
  • Maintain employee records (timesheets, training files) according to SOPs and legal requirements
  • Work with Payroll department to update any employee information to meet payroll deadlines e.g. un-paid leave, timesheets or any resignations or terminations
  • Give professional guidance to management based on SOP`s and Zambia Laws on disciplinary cases and participate in the disciplinary procedures
  • Coordinate annual staff performance reviews
  • Monitor and maintain leave register for all staff
  • Coordinate health care for staff according to CFHRZ policies
  • Organize regular team buildings and wellness exercises for employees
  • Assist with any immigration matters e.g. Visa applications
  • Assist in audits and reporting

The ideal Candidate for this role should have the below qualifications and skills:

  • BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus
  • Registered with Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
  • Understand of Zambian labor laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office;
  • Proficiency in English language (written and spoken) and excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding professionalism and ethics
