Role Description and Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role for a Heavy Duty Mechanic at All-Around Auto Zambia Limited in Chambishi. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be required to maintain and repair various trucks such as Sacman, Sinotruk, and Beiben (Powerstar). The responsibilities of the mechanic include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Inspecting heavy trucks for proper performance, and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hands and power tools
• Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on trucks
• Maintain records of the maintenance and repairs carried out.

Qualifications

• Full Grade Twelve school certificate
• Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Heavy Equipment Mechanics
• Valid driving license with minimum class C1
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with Cummins and Weichai engines.
• Previous experience in a logistics company with a fleet of not less than 100 trucks is required
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
