Our Client, a leading independent surveyor, analysts and technical consultants in Zambia, maintains a rigorous ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Quality Management Standard and is seeking to recruit a qualified Head of Department for the Metallurgy department. Responsible for the effective improvement and upholding of the highest quality services and technical competency of the department in meeting the core company business and ensuring a pro-active approach to problem solving and continuous improvement of services and supervising metallurgical personnel in dealing with metallurgical test-works and client based technique queries.

Job Description
Responsible for all Quality Control /Quality Assurance in the provision of all metallurgical services.
Responsible for spearheading growth strategies for the department
Ensuring the customer needs are met at all times.
Supporting the Divisional Manager in organizing and implementing staff training policies setting achievable objectives and assessing competency of workforce and implementation of training policies as appropriate and maintain records
Ensuring timely execution of jobs, reporting, and invoicing and debt collection.

Candidate Specification
Experience: 5 years plus
Education Level: Degree
Qualifications: Degree in Metallurgy/Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Software: Computer literate
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: Experience in a Metallurgical Laboratory environment and emissions monitoring will be an added advantage.
Skills To: Strong demonstrable technical and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills
Ability To: Meet deadlines and client expectations, in line with documented procedures.
Other Requirements: Must be a member of EIZ with a valid practicing license. Experience driving a manual vehicle with a clean and valid drivers’ license.
