Aller Aqua Zambia Limited invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of SHE Graduate Trainee. The role reports to the EHS Manager and will be based in Siavonga.

JOB PURPOSE

As a SHE Graduate Trainee, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the field of Safety, Health, and Environment. Under the guidance of EHS Manager, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to various aspects of our SHE initiatives, including risk assessment, compliance monitoring, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, and contribute to the development of effective corrective and preventive measures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs, promoting a culture of safety awareness among employees.
    Support the monitoring and analysis of environmental performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and sustainability initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with evolving safety, health, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, and proactively share knowledge within the organization.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans and business continuity strategies.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for optimization and recommending innovative solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Full Grade Twelve School Certificate (GCE
  • Recent graduate (within the last two years) with a bachelor’s degree in       safety or a related field.
  • Strong passion for Safety, Health, and Environment, demonstrated through coursework, internships, or relevant projects
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards such as OSHA, ISO, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and propose effective solutions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
