Job Title: General Manager
Location: King Lewanika Lodge, Liuwa Plain National Park, Zambia
Salary:ZMW60,000 per month (Gross)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of King Lewanika Lodge. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the five-star hospitality sector, demonstrating excellence in guest service, management, and operations. This role requires someone capable of thriving in a remote and challenging environment while upholding our commitment to best-in-class guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Manage all aspects of lodge operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
Guest Experience: Champion best-in-class guest experiences, addressing any issues promptly and ensuring a seamless and memorable stay for all guests.
Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining operational excellence.
Staff Management: Lead, train, and mentor a diverse team of staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Independent Work: Effectively manage and make decisions independently, especially in a remote setting, with minimal supervision.
Stakeholder Relations: Act as an ambassador for King Lewanika Lodge with guests, local communities, and all other stakeholders, enhancing the lodge’s reputation and fostering strong relationships.
Administration: Handle administrative tasks, including compliance with company policies, local regulations, and maintaining accurate records.
Language Skills: Utilize knowledge of the Lozi language to engage with local communities and enhance guest interactions (preferred but not essential).

Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Hotel Management or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a senior management role within the five-star hospitality sector, with a demonstrated track record of success.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a remote luxury lodge environment.
  • Strong financial and administrative skills, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Exceptional man management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a distinguished ambassador for the company.
  • Knowledge of the Lozi language is a distinct advantage but not mandatory.
