Key Responsibilities
As the Fundraising Manager, you will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for the following:

  • Fundraising Strategy Development
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support Thrive Africa Network’s programs and initiatives.
    • Identify new fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to donor engagement.
    • Set fundraising goals and metrics to ensure success and long-term sustainability.
  • Donor Relations and Partnerships
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, funding partners, and sponsors.
    • Lead efforts in writing proposals, grant applications, and reports for donor funding.
    • Develop partnerships with local and international NGOs, corporations, and government entities to secure funding.
  • Grant Management
    • Oversee the development and submission of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with Thrive Africa Network’s strategic priorities.
    • Monitor and manage donor-funded projects to ensure financial accountability and effective use of resources.
    • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, reporting standards, and organizational policies.
  • Campaign Management
    • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including online campaigns, events, and corporate partnerships.
    • Engage with local communities to raise awareness and build support for Thrive Africa Network’s mission.
    • Track and analyze fundraising performance to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
  • Financial Oversight and Reporting
    • Manage the fundraising budget and track all financial transactions associated with fundraising efforts.
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of fundraising activities and financial projections.
    • Prepare and present reports on fundraising outcomes to donors and internal stakeholders.
  • Advocacy and Awareness
    • Represent Thrive Africa Network in fundraising events and donor meetings.
    • Raise awareness of the organization’s mission and impact to attract support.
    • Advocate for the organization’s values and fundraising initiatives through various media platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A graduate-level degree in a relevant field (e.g., marketing, business, nonprofit management) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and grant writing.
  • Strong knowledge of current fundraising trends and donor engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with international donors, corporations, and government agencies is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and fundraising platforms.
  • Passion for youth empowerment, community development, and sustainable growth in Africa.
