About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and performance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role is vital in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently, meets safety standards, and supports business objectives. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the overall operation and maintenance of the company’s fleet, including vehicles and heavy machinery.
Develop and implement fleet management strategies to optimize costs, performance, and efficiency.
Coordinate the scheduling of repairs, servicing, and routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
Monitor fleet performance metrics, such as fuel efficiency, usage, and maintenance costs.
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, including vehicle licensing, inspections, and operator certifications.
Manage fleet procurement, including evaluating and selecting vehicles, negotiating contracts, and tracking inventory.
Supervise and support drivers and operators, providing training and addressing performance issues.
Collaborate with the operations team to allocate vehicles and equipment according to project needs.
Maintain accurate records, including maintenance logs, insurance documentation, and expense reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement technology solutions, such as GPS tracking or fleet management software.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair processes.
Familiarity with fleet management software and tools.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate teams.
Understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for fleet operations.
Budgeting and cost management experience.
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
