Job Description
Jacaranda Company Limited, a duly registered transportation company in Zambia, is looking to hire a fleet management Officer to join their team.
Role Overview: The fleet mgt officer will report to the operations manager and is expected to assist in the day to day activities involved in the operations department.
*MAIN DUTIES*
– Management of drivers including training, daily communication, assisting in recruitment etc
– Fleet tracking and monitoring via the GPS system and following up with any inconsistencies.
– Management and monitoring truck conditions and following up in case of emergency
– Coordinating the trucks loading and offloading with drivers, clients and any other third parties
– Billing and Voucher management. this involves insuring that all Payments, receipts and PODs are properly handled and collected from all relevant persons and submitted to finance department on time.
– Fuel and Tyre management. Ensuring that fuel consumption is properly monitored and reporting all discrepancies to the relevant company personnel. Keeping records of all tyres and spare parts taken out of the warehouse to be used on the vehicles.
– Keeping record of vehicle service and ensuring that follow ups are made with the drivers if the vehicle requires routine maintenance.
*REQUIREMENTS:*
– Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and supply chain management or business administration from a reputable university is a must.
– 5years management experience with atleast 2 years being with a transportation company with a fleet of more than 50 trucks is preferred
– Membership with Zambian Chattered Institute for Logistics and Transport will be added advantage
*PERSONAL TRAITS*
– MALE candidate is preferred
– aged between 28-32
– Motivated and proactive
– Firm and strong willed character and temperament
– Well spoken with proper communication skills with the ability to speak English ,Nyanja and Bemba
– Target oriented and self driven. Should be available on call 24/7 to attend to all logistics needs.
