Job Description


Introduction: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Farm Supervisor to oversee daily farm operations, specifically focusing on the growth and management of seedlings. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Agriculture, coupled with hands-on experience in seedling cultivation and farm management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily farm activities, ensuring proper care and cultivation of seedlings.
  • Manage planting schedules, including seed selection, planting depth, spacing, and environmental factors for optimal seedling growth.
  • Monitor and assess soil conditions, irrigation systems, and pest control to ensure the health and productivity of seedlings.
  • Oversee the work of farm staff, providing direction and training as needed to ensure high standards of farm operations.
  • Collaborate with the farm management team to develop and implement crop production strategies and timelines.
  • Keep detailed records of seedling growth, environmental conditions, pest management, and irrigation schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues within the nursery.
  • Assist in preparing farm reports and updates on productivity, seedling growth, and resource usage.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in farming, specifically with seedling cultivation and farm supervision.
  • Strong understanding of plant biology, soil science, and irrigation systems.
  • Knowledge of pest management and fertilizer application.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions, with physical stamina for hands-on farm tasks.
  • Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery is a plus.
  • Good communication skills to effectively liaise with farm workers, management, and external suppliers.
